Whether it’s the heat of summer and you just don’t feel up to making something warm and cozy, or if you’re looking for a quick project, my Easiest Bath Scrubs Ever pattern is my absolute go-to. With just a small amount of cotton yarn and a few rounds of double crochet, you’ll have a perfect little scrubby, ideal for bathroom decor or as a thoughtful handmade gift. The best part? These scrubbies are stackable, easy to whip up in no time, and perfect for gifting in sets.
These cotton rounds aren’t just functional; they’re the sweetest touch of handmade charm in any kitchen or bath. I hope you find as much joy in making these scrubbies as I do, whether for a craft sale, a gift, or just to treat yourself. Let’s get started!
Supplies Needed:
- Peaches’N Cream 100% Cotton Yarn or any worsted-weight cotton yarn of your choice.
- Crochet Hook: 4.0mm/US size G.
- Yarn Needle and Scissors: For weaving in ends.
Pattern Overview and Tips
This pattern is perfect for beginners! Not only is it easy to follow, but it also works up quickly. I love to make these in bulk—whether as last-minute gifts or for selling at craft fairs. Pairing a scrubby with a bar of handmade soap or a washcloth adds that extra special touch to a thoughtful gift.
For an extra bit of flair, you can also customize these scrubbies by adding a lace border or crocheting additional rounds to make a larger piece.
Crochet Terminology
- Ch – Chain: Yarn over and pull through the loop on your hook to create a chain stitch.
- Dc – Double Crochet: Yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops.
- Sl st – Slip Stitch: Insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through both the stitch and the loop on your hook in one motion.
- Magic Circle: A technique for starting projects worked in the round. Watch or read my in-depth tutorial here!
Method: The World’s Easiest Scrubby
- Start with a Magic Circle: If you need a refresher, check out my Magic Circle tutorial here.
- Row 1: Chain (Ch) 2, then make 12 double crochets (Dc) inside the magic circle. Pull the yarn tail to tighten the circle. Slip stitch (Sl st) to join the last stitch to the first.
- Row 2: Chain 1, then make 2 double crochets (Dc) in each stitch around (24 stitches total). Slip stitch to join the round.
- Row 3: Chain 1. Make 1 Dc in the first stitch, then 2 Dc in the next stitch. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Slip stitch to join.
Finishing Touches
Once you’ve completed your scrubby:
- Cut your yarn and tie off securely.
- Weave in the ends with a yarn needle for a clean finish.
- Optional: If you want to add extra personality, try crocheting a lace border around the edge or adding another round of double crochet stitches for a larger scrubby.
Pro Tip: Stack a few of these scrubbies, tie with a ribbon, and add a bar of handmade soap for a simple, heartfelt gift!
And there you have it—the world’s easiest scrubby pattern, ready to brighten up your kitchen or bath! These scrubbies are quick, satisfying, and versatile, making them a staple in any crocheter’s collection.
